All great cities have at least one grand avenue where culture and commerce coalesce.  The “Gran Via Madrileña” is the Spanish capital’s answer to New York’s “Time’s Square”, London’s “Piccadilly Circus”, “Rodeo Drive” in Los Angeles and other such asphalted rivers of humanity.  This essay is a humble homage to all great streets and the denizens that prowl them.
