Menorca is the northernmost of the Balearic Islands. 48 kilometers (30 miles) long and 15kms (9 miles) wide, it is the second in size and population of the five main bodies of this small archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea just south-east of the Iberian peninsula off the coast of Catalunya (the other islands are Mallorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Cabrera). Unlike most of the Spanish coast Menorca has escaped tourist over-development with most of its geography unspoiled by high-rise hotels and other eyesores. BACK
